Recife is warm all year round, but indoors you might need a cardigan because all conference rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Outdoors, prefer light casual clothing, flip flops and comfortable shoes, shorts and swimming suits.
July is a rainy month in Recife, so you might want to bring a light raincoat or get an umbrella. On the other hand, if the sun comes out, we strongly advise wearing sunscreen.
Beware that it is not advised to swim in Boa Viagem beach due to the possibility of shark attacks.
It is also a good idea to bring mosquito repellent.
Uber and taxi are the best transport options.
Credit / debit cards are widely accepted .
Since July 2021, Recife has been recognized as a safe tourist destination, with the Safe Travels Seal, from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), endorsed by the World Tourism Organization. The certification was created by the WTTC to give more confidence to travelers and boost tourism. The seals are aimed at popular destinations globally and that comply with the protocols that safely guarantee tourism. The travel protocols announced by the WTTC were prepared following the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Airports Council. (ACI) and the Cruise Liner International Association (CLIA) to ensure industry-wide alignment.
